Framework for circular transition. How to collaborate and create a foundation for reducing the need of resources by 80%? Involving local companies and public representatives, The Loop Factory guided participating companies to work with ideas, challenges and opportunities around the circular economy and what new business opportunities a new way of working can provide.

Background

The project's goal was to gather key functions for the municipality in order to identify how we can further develop structures to drive the sustainable transition forward. Participating parties would gain increased knowledge and have the opportunity to develop and test the knowledge in practice.

challenge

The challenges do not lie in innovations and technological leaps, but more in changing mindsets and having the courage to change business models.

Circular economy is seldom on the agenda in decision-making processes, and society lacks structures to stimulate circular action in everyday life.

Solution

Individual meetings where company-specific challenges and opportunities in circular conversion were discussed. All challenges and opportunities were packaged in project ideas that were mapped into different areas. During a joint workshop, the project ideas were discussed based on a number of challenges and the target groups signed up for the proposals they were most interested in.

Result

Within the project, we had a very good exchange of experiences, knowledge and ideation via the individual speed dates, discussions and joint workshops that were conducted. The work process also opened up for collaboration between companies that otherwise would not have collaborated in a natural way.

Collaboration for circular transition

Collaboration between companies as well as between companies and the municipality is a must to make circular transition happen. Knowledge and experiences of different solutions are available, and it is of great importance to link this to the local perspective in order to succeed with the transition.
