speed up halland

We want to speed up the innovation process for small and medium-sized companies and strengthen the innovative power in circular solutions and sustainable materials. We will guide you through the prototyping stage and prepare for take off!

Background

The knowledge required to make the right demands needs to be expanded, and courage and support are needed to implement change. This requires cooperation between different actors and strengthened strategic coordination between projects to create broad anchoring for long-term development and innovation.

Challenge

Halland lacks a cohesive structure to promote sustainable innovations that contribute to a reduced climate impact. To accelerate the implementation of innovations, support from strategy to practical implementation needs to be strengthened.

Solution

Pilot testing and access to applied test beds are prerequisites for commercializing innovations. Research shows that increased collaboration, access to entrepreneurial culture, test environments and new working methods can increase the success factor for disruptive innovations from 5 to 95%.

result

In 2023, there will be more targeted support for the business community with a focus on sustainable materials where a breadth of applied test environments can be used in the development and upscaling of sustainable innovations. The Halland industry takes a larger share of external innovation financing and the knowledge of how Agenda 2030 can be put into practice has increased.

Pilots with sprints for SME’S

We will offer applied support to 15 companies in Halland with material and prototype development in test environments identified in the project. The focus is on sustainable materials, which can be, for example, materials and products that are produced through more resource-efficient manufacturing processes, through an increased proportion of renewable or recycled materials or products designed for recycling. The pilots can also be service-based solutions linked to, for example, processes that enable material recycling, material savings and an extended service life of resources and materials.

The pilots who are selected to participate will in three phases receive practical help and machine time in a relevant test environment with continuous guidance of the project driver:

  • 1. Visualization

We determine what needs and opportunities the product or service has to be able to develop in the future with strategic application of sustainable materials.

  • 2. Concretization

The ideas are further developed to be processed in a relevant test environment.

  • 3. Verification

For shorter and time-limited periods, we develop prototypes together that prepare the product or service for their future production environment.

The Speed Up process

Collaboration for circular innovation

A cohesive structure or platform for circular conversion for sustainable materials must be developed during the project period and contain knowledge, lock to test beds, enable actor collaboration, guide to test environments etc. By being a complement to the innovation support system's existing players and their offerings in sustainability and circularity, we can together strengthen the Halland business community's capacity to promote green innovations and increase the collective competence in the area.
