ITC Delegation visit - A Global Connection
We were honoured to host the ITC delegation at The Loop Factory Group, where over 35 high-level representatives from Morocco, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Jordan, and Egypt joined us for a day of knowledge-sharing and collaboration.
About the Delegation
The delegation, led by Matthias Knappe, Head of Fibres, Textiles, and Clothing at the International Trade Centre (ITC)—a United Nations organisation—brought together a diverse ecosystem of leaders. These included representatives from Business Support Organizations, Chambers of Commerce, Ministries of Trade, Industry, and Environment, production clusters, and research institutes. With support from the Swedish Embassy, Sida, and Business Sweden, this delegation represented a united global commitment to sustainability and circularity in textiles.
Why Sweden? Why Now?
This visit marks the beginning of ITC’s Global Textiles and Clothing (GTEX) and Middle East and North Africa Textiles (MENATEX) program’s second phase (2024–2027). Co-financed by the Swedish Government, this initiative highlights Sweden’s key role in fostering sustainable trade and innovation worldwide.
The mission aimed to:
Engage with Swedish leaders to explore circularity and sustainability initiatives, focusing on sustainable sourcing, procurement, and advanced recycling capabilities.
Build long-term partnerships with Swedish industry leaders, government bodies, and institutions driving environmental change.
Showcase the circularity and sustainability efforts of the five participating countries, promoting them as valuable global partners for Swedish enterprises.
What we achieved
During the visit, the delegation toured our facilities, exchanged insights on transformative practices, and explored opportunities to build a shared vision for a sustainable future. We were inspired by their passion, expertise, and commitment to progress—a true testament to the power of international collaboration.
