TexScale Leads Textile Recycling

- The new initiative aims to transform the textile industry by scaling up recycling efforts.

TexScale, a groundbreaking initiative funded by the Swedish Energy Agency, Vinnova, and Formas within the innovation program Re:Source, is set to revolutionise European textile recycling. With 9 million tons of textile waste incinerated or landfilled annually, TexScale aims to scale up recycling efforts to meet the industry's urgent need for sustainable solutions.

"TexScale is more than just a project; it's a commitment to challenging the outdated, linear mindset that has dominated the textile industry for too long," said Roos Mulder, Project manager at The Loop Factory." By collaborating with key industry players, we're increasing resource efficiency and setting the stage for a more sustainable future."

By partnering with leading companies like Artex, Taiga, and RISE, TexScale will focus on handling complex textile waste streams, demonstrating the feasibility of large-scale recycling. The project targets resource efficiency and seeks to lead the industry towards a more sustainable future.
