Welcome Roos
Say hi to our new colleague Roos Mulder.
Welcome Roos, our new Development Engineer.
Hey there! Tell us a bit about yourself!
Hoi! My name is Roos Mulder and I am originally from Oirschot in the Netherlands. After studying Fashion Management in Amsterdam for 4 years, I came to Sweden to study textile engineering in Borås about 5 years ago and have not yet managed to leave. I have grown to love Sweden and its nature, fika and rain, and wanted to prolong my stay a bit longer. Outside my work and studies as a textile engineer, I have been a bartender in beautiful Borås, and I make a mean Whiskey Sour.
Which skills do you wish to bring to The Loop Factory?
My knowledge about textiles and drive to make this industry more sustainable. Besides that, I hope to bring my curiosity, eagerness to learn, problem solving mindset and humour to the company.
What attracted you to The Loop Factory?
The feeling that I would be able to make a difference. We are a small company that works on huge projects, and for each project, we can make a difference to a more sustainable future. Besides that, within our team we value everyone’s competencies and realise that a sustainable future can only be realised when we all work together. This feeling of home made me sure that The Loop Factory was the right fit for me.
In what way do you want to be involved and contribute to a better world?
The best way I can, even though that is not always perfect. I try to be conscious of what I buy and eat, but I am an even bigger fan of innovation. Dye processes that require less energy and water, recycling rest streams from production, 3D printing food, the list can keep going. The important thing is that we start change now, as much as we can, and that we inspire others to do the same.
When not at work, what are you up to?
Most likely busy doing some sort of social activity, rest is for the wicked. From cooking and card games, to outdoor activities like snowboarding or swimming, I like to be with people. But on Valentine’s Day this year I got myself two little black cats, so hanging on the couch with them has become a new favourite activity for me.
So far, how do you like your first time here at The Loop Factory?
So far, I have had a lot of fun. I got assigned a ‘fadder’ during my introduction time, and that made my student heart very happy. It is inspiring to work with people that have the same mindset, we want to get stuff done! I have done my first day in the lab and seeing ideas becoming reality is amazing.
Welcome Roos!
